ABA SERVICES
Unlock Your Child’s Potential with Expert ABA Therapy Services Today
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a research-based approach focused on understanding why behaviors occur and how they are reinforced. Through structured strategies and environmental adjustments, ABA replaces challenging behaviors with meaningful, skill building alternatives. It helps individuals learn socially significant behaviors by applying proven behavioral principles, ultimately improving independence, communication, and overall quality of life across different environments.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services at SBEC
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific, data-driven approach designed to improve socially meaningful behaviors. Rooted in evidence and tailored to each individual, ABA empowers children and adults to learn new skills and reduce challenging behaviors across various environments.
At SBEC, our clinical team led by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Qualified Behavior Analysts (QBAs), conducts comprehensive assessments to design customized ABA treatment plans. We offer flexible service options, including Home-Based, School-Based, Clinic-Based, and Telehealth services, ensuring support is accessible and consistent across all settings.
Our mission is to provide compassionate, results-oriented care that helps every individual reach their full potential—at home, in school, and in life.
ABA THERAPY PROCESS
Begin by confirming a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other developmental delays through a qualified provider such as a specialist physician, psychiatrist, or clinical psychologist. If appropriate, they will include a formal recommendation for ABA therapy in the diagnostic report or refer you directly through your insurance provider.
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will conduct an in-depth Functional Behavior Assessment to identify behaviors of concern, understand what reinforces them, and determine the factors maintaining these behaviors in everyday environments.
Based on the FBA results, the BCBA will create a personalized intervention plan tailored to the individual’s strengths and needs. The plan includes measurable goals that focus on building positive skills and reducing challenging behaviors.
Your child will receive direct support from trained and certified professionals (BCBA, BCaBA, or RBT) either one-on-one or in a group setting. These providers will implement the plan, collect data daily, and adjust techniques to ensure progress and effectiveness.
Progress is continuously evaluated by the BCBA, who uses data to update the treatment plan as needed. Every six months, parents complete assessments to help track improvement, set new goals, and ensure the plan stays aligned with the child’s evolving needs.
As your child begins to achieve goals and demonstrate independence, ABA service hours are gradually reduced. This transition is carefully managed to maintain progress and prepare for long-term success.
ABA therapy concludes once your child meets all targeted goals, maintains the acquired skills across environments, and functions at a socially appropriate and independent level. A full review ensures readiness for this milestone.
How ABA Works: Understanding the ABC Model
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science-based approach centered around the ABC model: Antecedent, Behavior, and Consequence. This model helps identify what happens before a behavior (antecedent), the behavior itself, and what follows (consequence). By modifying either the antecedent or the consequence or both behavior can be positively influenced over time.
At SBEC, our ABA strategies are rooted in this model and chosen based on comprehensive assessments. We use proven techniques to encourage meaningful behavior change, tailored to each individual’s needs. Through this personalized approach, ABA not only teaches new skills but also improves quality of life across home, school, and community settings.
Antecedent
Any event, situation, or condition that occurs immediately before a behavior. It can trigger or influence how a person responds.
Behavior
The specific action or response an individual demonstrates—this is the observable behavior we aim to increase or decrease.
Consequence
What happens immediately after the behavior. It can reinforce or discourage the behavior depending on how it is handled.
